Z nowej analizy wynika, że prawie wszystkie samorządy w Anglii i Walii planują podnieść podatek lokalny o maksymalną dozwoloną kwotę, aby zaradzić lokalnemu kryzysowi w wydatkach.
Spośród 136 samorządów, które zgłosiły swoje propozycje, wszystkie z wyjątkiem ośmiu chcą w kwietniu podnieść rachunki swoich mieszkańców o 4,99% lub więcej.
Żadna rada nie zadeklarowała, że nie podniesie podatków, a najniższa zaproponowana podwyżka wyniesie 2,99%. W sumie 17 władz nie ogłosiło jeszcze swoich planów, a cztery mają specjalną dyspensę na podniesienie podatku lokalnego o 10% po popadnięciu w stan kryzysu finansowego.
