The role of Category Direct Sourcing Manager is to work cross functionally with a range of teams including Commercial, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Packaging and Branding and Kingfisher Sourcing teams across the group. The main responsibilities include helping balance the complex needs of these multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver theDirect Sourcingprojects in accordance with theDirect Sourcingplans and targets. Requires excellent relationship management skills.
The ideal candidate shall have experience in global/international sourcing, with a good understanding of international logistics and contract management.
About the role
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Developing and leading the direct sourcing plan for the Category Trading area plus other assigned areas
Developing and managing communication with sourcing offices to ensure delivery of Direct Sourcing projects
Supporting the delivery of group synergy opportunities on behalf of B&Q category team
Accountable for managing effective cross functional relationships with all key stakeholders (QA, Marketing, Import Supply, Finance, etc) both within B&Q and the Kingfisher group
Supporting the development of buyer briefs into project plans with critical paths
Accountable for developing internal and external networks to support the role and remaining close to sourcing developments in the retail industry
Category direct sourcing plan progress reporting and communication at all levels
About you
The successful candidate is likely to be/demonstrate;
Previous exposure to an understanding of Direct Sourcing, buying and supply chain is essential
Knowledge of product range/market/competitors is advantageous, but not essential
Excellent networking and stakeholder engagement skills, along with influencing skills
Ability to build strong relationships across multiple supporting functions
Flexible style with the ability to adapt approach to different teams and individuals
An engaging and collaborative approach with other business functions and stakeholders
Strong negotiation skills and experience
Strong analytical skills
Project management skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines
Strong personal organisational and planning skills, good judgement and the ability to prioritise
Chinese, French and/or Polish languages would be an added advantage, however not essential
