Happy New Year from all of us involved with EU Welcome.

It looks like being a challenging year with despressing news about the economy throughout Europe. This means there are even more reasons for people to ensure they get good advice, as well as training and maybe higher education. We are here to help you with these things and to ensure you are receiving all your rights, benefits etc. Don't miss out!

We start the year with 'Let's Talk About' on Wednesday 7 January at Cukierenke (Sweet Tooth Cafe, 22 Bedford Place so15 2 bd. Our guest is Coucillor Jeremy Moulton, a local politician and leader in the City Council. Do come along to chat to him (or just listen) It's important that he is aware what issues people are facing. It starts at 7.00pm. These are enjoyable evenings. Please come along

Here are some other events happening soon......

Our Photo and Art Exhibition will take place at The Marlands Mall from 19 February to 1 March. The theme is 'Seuthampton;' any photographs/images of Southampton! Other art forms are also welcome. For more details and to register for free please contact If you want to know more, our next planning/discussion meeting will happen in Fabio's Café in the Marlands Mall at 6.00pm on 15 January. Everyone is welcome and if you cannot make 6.00pm just come when you can.

2) Our next Advice Evening takes place on Friday 16 January from 6pm to 8pm at George Williams House, YMCA Building , Cranbury Place SO14 0LG (near London Road and Inner Avenue )

With the help of Polish* Psychologists Club we can also talk to you confidentially about personal problems, stress, family problems etc........or you can just come along and say hello!

On the last Tuesday in each month Target Accounting and Lloyd’s/TSB Bank run an open evening at Targets office 488 Portswood Road so173sp. It’s a chance to open accounts and to ask any banking, financial or tax questions with Polish interpreters available. The next one takes place on Tuesday 27 January from 7pm. 4) Our playgroup at St Boniface Church, Shirley High Street happens each Tuesday morning. If you have children under 5, or know people who have, it is a great place to come. It runs from 10am, and is open to all Eastern/Central European families.

* We have translation into Polish available at all of our meetings, but will always try to offer translation into other languages. Let us know if this is needed

A free walk-in 'Health Awareness' clinic is being organised by Southampton PCT, The National Blood Service, The Stroke association and Sri Sathya Sai Service organisation. It will be held on Sunday the 11th January 2009 from 10.00-15.00 at:

The Mass in Polish on Sundays is now at 11.30am at St Vincent de Paul Church in Coxford Road, Lordswood. The Saturday evening Mass continues at St Edmund's at 7.00pm
